"Seeing John progress as a musician, composer, and conductor has been an incredible sight. The first time I remember seeing John conduct was when he conducted Eric Whitacre’s Sleep with the ENMU Chamber Choir. It moved me to tears, and every time I review the video of that performance it brings me to tears. His ability to take a choir and make them go that one extra step in the field of music making is incredible. John is also a very accomplished composer. His works have definitely proven to be great and great to perform. The imagery in each of his works is clearly seen and very inspiring. Having the opportunity to premier one of his pieces was truly an honor and a privilege to me. John Lee Bonner is also an accomplished musician in my mind. I have had the honor and opportunity to perform in several ensembles with him and have enjoyed his presence and musical input. He is truly gifted and very talented and an inspiration to many."
